Congress’s Insider-Trading Racket
(short from the Daily Beast, ie Newsweek condensed)
Did Nancy Pelosi, John Boehner, John Kerry, and several other lawmakers benefit from something similar to insider trading during the financial crisis? Hoover Institute research fellow Brian Schweizer analyzed financial disclosures and found that it often appeared they did. Pelosi, for example, was one of the select investors invited to buy Visa stock at a lower rate—about the same time she blocked a bill that would adversely affect Visa’s business. (Her office dismisses Schweizer as a “right-wing hack.”) In Newsweek, Peter J. Boyer reports on the explosive corruption allegations.
The money many stand to make on dismantling Medicare is sickening as they hurriedly scramble to invest in private health insurance companies, pharmaceuticals, etc.
Congress is exempt from insider trading tips--the kind that sent Leona Helmsley and Martha Stewart to jail and are off limits to the public. Schweizer's book is called: GET THEM ALL OUT!
To which I add my SLOGAN---- LET US IN!
LET US IN! Keep Big Money out of Government.
George Washington did not want to have political parties. He thought they would become divisive and corrupt and fail to
represent the will of the people. Well, that was before BIG MEDIA got involved. Owned by massive conglomerates, the
"news" is no longer objective and in-depth, but carries out the
message of its biggest owners.
The environment and the economic welfare of the American
people is in dire jeopardy, yet squabbling on one side and
cowardice on the other, have created leadership that will not
take a moral stand.
I hope to change all that. I encourage every ordinary, sensible,
thoughtful person to run for office- local, PTO, state level- it doesn't matter. Petitions won't create change. Demonstrations will be censored by the mainstream media. LET US IN!
